Commercial Disclosure and Affiliate Policy

This site earns through affiliate arrangements with some of the providers it covers. Those arrangements do not affect scores, ranking order, or wording. Order is produced by published weights applied to published data, and the weights file is public.

How this site earns

Through affiliate arrangements with a subset of the providers it covers. When a reader follows a link to a provider and later becomes a customer, the provider may pay a commission.

That is the ordinary funding model for this category, and it is also the reason most listings in it cannot be trusted. Our editorial policy sets out the rules that keep it separate from the ranking. The failure mode is well documented: the order of a list quietly becomes the order of commission rates, and the reader has no way to detect it because the weights are never published.

Why the arrangement cannot move the ranking

Because the ranking is not written by hand. Each provider card carries five scores. A published weights file turns those scores into a total, and every table on this site sorts on that total. There is no field anywhere in the data that could promote a provider, and no manual step where an order could be adjusted.

You can verify this rather than take it on trust across the whole catalogue. The methodology page reads the same weights file the tables read, prints every weight, and lets you change them. If the published order were commercially arranged, changing the weights would not reorder it correctly, and it does.

What we do not do

We do not accept payment for inclusion, for a review, for a particular description, or for removal of a criticism. We do not let providers see a page before it publishes. We do not remove a card because a provider asked.

Marking

Outbound links to provider sites carry rel=“nofollow”, whether or not a commercial arrangement exists behind them. Applying the attribute uniformly means the markup does not leak which relationships exist, and it keeps this site from passing ranking signal to companies it also ranks.

Questions merchants ask

Do you earn from links on this site?

From some of them. Where an outbound link to a provider carries an affiliate arrangement it is marked with rel=nofollow, and the existence of the arrangement never changes the provider's score or position.

Could a provider pay to rank higher?

No. Position is computed at build time from the scores on each card and the weights in a published file. There is no manual override, and changing a weight changes every table on the site at once.

Are any providers here related to the site's owner?

Any provider with an ownership or operational relationship to this site would be marked on its own card and named on this page. At present none of the indexed providers has one.
